Inspired Mommie Designs just released this super adorable kit that is bursting with bunnies and eggs, "Hoppy Easter". I'm feeling the Easter spirit today, even eating some Cadbury Mini Eggs as I'm typing. Those are my FAAAAVORITE! And since they are seasonal, I can certainly rationalize my chocolate binge... The Reason Why...

I've gotten a few questions about the "close out" sale, so is the explanation. I am graduating in May with my master's degree in counseling psychology. I was offered a job and will be starting full time work as a career counselor within a few weeks. I won't be able to keep up with my commitments as a designer in a store while also making the most of my limited time with my family, so I had to make a very hard choice to pull out of the store. I will still be hanging out at the Pretty Scrappy forum and gallery, because I LOVE all the people there. I have had the best experience as a designer there, and will certainly go back when the time is right! PRETTY SCRAPPY ROCKS! :)

In the meantime, I will still be designing for fun when I have time. It is most likely that you, my lovely blog readers, will get some freebies from time to time! I'm not planning to drop off the face of digiscrap earth! I'll be here. :)

One thing I hope to do with my free time is to catch up on my own scrapping. :) Wish me luck on that. I have so many fantastic photos of my boys just screaming to be scrapped!

I'll have my "April" paper ready for download soon, and then (drumroll please) the Funk-a-licious blog train will begin in a few days. Be on the look-out!!!

In other news, I've had a blast trying out some new actions and styles over the past few weeks. Here is a new action from Mega-Doodle Inspired, a Dump Truck action!!! My little boys thought this was like a video game. They wanted me to create dump trucks over and over again, and helped me pick out the colors. :)

Bannerwoman has also released some new styles. I LOVE the Parched Paper and Worn Edges styles. I'm always trying to find a way to add realistic texture to my papers. If I layer these with different colors or patterns, I get some really interesting looks.

This next style is really cool. It's a pearl style, but I heard someone say that it looks a bit like spilled nail polish.

I adjusted the inner glow on some shapes and made some nail polish splatters to share today! Click here for your freebie!

New Bannerwoman styles - TONS of them

Bannerwoman has release a whole bunch of different styles in the past week! I got to test them, and there are some neat ones for sure! My personal favorite was a foil style. There are some glitter acrylics that are really neat, and several different crayon styles to choose from (I love the messy crayon styles)! Also glass, leather, glitter foam... Really neat!

ATTENTION PAINTSHOP USERS!!! Bannerwoman also has some PSP tutorials. I've never used PSP, I started digiscrapping in DIP and then moved into PSE, so I haven't used these but they look pretty good!

The photo session that almost didn't happen

On Saturday afternoon, we had scheduled a professional family photo session. My husband and I had bathed the kids, they'd had fresh haircuts, and we got them into some decent (i.e. clean) clothes for photographs. As we finished getting the boys dressed, we started calculating how much we were going to end up spending on these posed, formal portraits. Martin decided we should just skip out and have our own photo session, and we went with it. Let me just say, we got some PRICELESS poses for FREE! :)

The unfortunate thing about designing is that I spend so much of my computer time creating backgrounds and elements and doing administrative things that I don't take the time to scrap my own photos! Well, when I saw Pretty Scrappy's newest kit "In the Neighborhood", I was inspired! I HAD TO HAVE IT! :) Wow. I love this kit!!! :D

The textures on the papers are great, the elements are cute and unique, and the kit is HUGE!

My oldest son who is 4 really loved this layout. He carried the printed page around all day, talking about the green house, what it was like being closed up in the box, and sneezing on the photo...

New Years Resolutions... or not.

First off, THANKS to those of you who volunteered to do some layouts with my new kit. I get you the links this week-end! :) Can't wait to see your work!

Last night, I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed and I decided to weigh myself. My husband was in the bathroom too and peeked over my shoulder, I guess to see how I was doing with my weight loss. I stepped on the digital scale and it did the 1 second red light flashing in a circle while it was calculating my weight and then it said "EE". No joke. I stepped on my scale and it said "EE" to me. My husband immediately busted out laughing hysterically which made me laugh too, but also made me want to smack him. Guess I have some more exercising to do... or should I just buy a new scale?

Happy New Year! The fireworks are blasting all around my house here in Germany as I am typing. I decided that this year I'd make a different resolution instead of my same old usual resolutions such as "lose weight", or the one I've had every year since I was ten, "stop biting my nails". This year, my goal is to be more positive. That means I want to choose to focus on what is good in my kids, my husband, my family, my friends, my job, and MYSELF. :)

I used another word art that I bought last week from Elegant Word Art by Bethany. For some reason, I find that scrapping anything that uses her word art is truly "scrap therapy" for me!
